THE JAQUIE BROWN DIARIES ACQUIRED BY MTV NETWORKS IN A LANDMARK DEAL

The critically acclaimed New Zealand series The Jaquie Brown Diaries has been acquired by Logo of the MTV Networks in the US in a landmark sale for a New Zealand series. The Jaquie Brown Diaries, directed by Gerard Johnstone and produced by Young, Gifted and Brown for TV3, is a comedy series about an insecure, overambitious, status-obsessed TV reporter Jaquie Brown and takes a satirical look at the life of a C-grade celebrity. The first series won Best Comedy at the Qantas Film and Television Awards and was declared best local comedy in several publications such as The Listener, Metro magazine NZ Herald Timeout. The second series went on to be declared 'Best TV show on TV' by Sunday magazine. The co-creator and executive producer, Jaquie Brown, was voted one of the New Zealanders of the Year by both the New Zealand Herald and the North and South Magazine. Jaquie is also the winner of 2009 Women In Film and Television’s award for Success in Television.
